Things have been really busy around here lately. I thought I would do a real quick post with lots of pictures of some of the things we have been up to lately.
Both Taylor and Chase have started soccer, which makes our Saturdays a little more crazier than normal, but a lot of fun. This is Taylor's 3rd year and Chase's 1st. They are both loving at! They are both so fun to watch. Little Chasers smiles the entire time he's on the field. And yesterday he scored his very first goal. He was beaming! It was super cute.
Soccer buddies
Taylor going for it.
And Chasey doing the same.
We have REALLY been enjoying this nice weather we have been having. Bring on summer!! We can't wait!!
Here's Talan doing what he does best and that's doing whatever he wants. He is our super fiesty one who is VERY independent. Got to love it! This is him in our jeep that is stored away in the garage under a shelf. Nothing stops him, he has climbed in it several times and sits there pretending to drive while jamming out to the radio.
Here's another shot of him taking his nap on the floor. I went to put him down for his nap the other day and he refused to get in his crib, so I told him he could get in his crib to take a nap or sleep on the floor. He choose the floor. He thinks he's sooo big.
And here's Taylor and Chase playing in the little house their dad made them. They had such a good time with this thing. Too bad mom and dad left it out and the sprinklers got the best of it.
And here's Talan again making me super nervous on the swingset. He totally taunts me when he's up there and gets way to close to the edge. Little stinker.
Taylor really got into Earth Day this year. She was all about it. Since then she looks on everything to see if it has the little recycling symbol and gets all excited when she sees one. She went to the doctor's with me the other day and asked me, "mom can that lamp right there be recycled? I can't find the symbol on it." She has since recruited Chase and now they both walk around looking for things to recycle. The other day as I was doing some cleaning Taylor was completely appalled when she saw me throwing a giant piece of paper away. She insisted we recycled it. She decided that before we put it in the recycling bin, she would first recycle it by coloring both sides of it. She then took it to school to show everyone that she had "recycled." Her teacher was so cute about it and hung it up for everyone to see. She was thrilled.
Taylor had a animal report she had to give in front of her cute kindergarten class last week. She chose to do it on monkeys. I didn't get to go and watch, but I am certain she did a fabulous job! Spoken like a proud mom. This is the poster she made for it and her brother's monkey George that she took as a prop as well.
Here's Chaser fast asleep in the corner. He was having a rough day the other day and got in a little bit of trouble. This is how I found him when I went to get him out of time out.
Taylor has been off of school for testing the past couple of days, as a result we let Taylor and Chase have a little sleepover party. They were so excited! Here they are fast asleep in Chase's bed.
Talan lately really fights us at bedtime. I let him stay up with me last week cause he had a late nap and watch some TV with me. Well, ever since then he thinks the bedtime rule does NOT apply to him. A couple nights ago I got all the kids in bed and told Talan come on it's time for bed. He told me NO and hopped up on the couch to watch a show. I couldn't help it, and I pulled out the camera and he gave me a great big CHEESE! He went to bed right after that.
I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Cort spoiled me rotten. And the kids had each made me a little something as well at their schools. I felt so special, the whole day through. I forgot to take pictures on Mother's Day, (I know so unlike me) so I made them take pictures with me today with their cute cards.
Here's Talan last week after Family Home Evening enjoying his root beer float. We had a lesson on obedience and talked about the difference between being a Nephi and a Laman and Lemuel. Throughout the week everytime they obeyed I made sure to tell them thanks so much for being a Nephi. They got a real kick out of it.
Cort took the boys to a real soccer game last night and they had a great time. Cort said it was a little scary cause they were up so high and he just kept picturing one of them toppling down over the bleachers. Fortunately, that didn't happen. I asked him to take a picture of them all for me and he was nicest enough to oblige. Thanks Cort! Don't the boys look so happy?!
Our biggest news though for those of you who don't know is we are expecting again. I am a little scared, but super excited! I am due Novemeber 11th. We really are extremely blessed. Life really is beautiful, even with it's ups and downs.
